The Salvation Army Ashland Kroc Youth Theatre brings ‘Shrek The Musical Jr.’ to the stage
Auditions scheduled for September 2 & 3
ASHLAND, Ohio – The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Ashland is thrilled to announce that the 2026 Youth Theatre production will be the hilarious and heartwarming “Shrek The Musical Jr.” Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, this musical brings everyone’s favorite green ogre, wisecracking Donkey, and a host of fairy-tale misfits to life on stage. Auditions for youth ages 8 through 17 will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 2 and Wednesday, Sept. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Salvation Army’s Ashland Kroc Center, 527 East Liberty Street, Ashland.

Rehearsals will take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. Performances are scheduled for January 16, 17 and 18, 2026. Backstage crew opportunities will also be available closer to production.
Production of “Shrek The Musical Jr.” will be led by Majors Billy and Annalise Francis, and Amy Morgan.
“The Ashland Kroc Youth Theatre program has a holistic approach to learning vocal, acting, movement, and stage techniques in the process of being part of a production from start to performance,” says Major Annalise Francis. “We seek to inspire the development of each performer in an encouraging, cast-oriented, Christ-centered environment.”
