Summer at the Kroc!

Every week of Summer Day Camp is a unique opportunity to learn new life skills, and a place to make new friends for kids completing kindergarten to 12 years old. For parents, Summer Day Camp does more than just provide peace of mind that your children are well cared for, it also provides assurance that your children continue to develop their talents and abilities during the summer months. Motivated by God's love, our program strives to develop the whole child within their environment to help them grow physically, mentally and socially.

Activities include: swimming in our brand new indoor waterpark, sport, bowling field trips, arts & crafts, chapel, reading and writing.

SPY SCHOOL

June 13 - 17

Campers will learn what it takes to become a junior spy through activities that will sharpen their powers of observation, allow them to decipher codes and clues and build super spy gadgets! Graduation from spy school will come with a final mission, spy credentials and even a spy name.

HOMETOWN HEROES WEEK
June 20 - 24

Heroes are around us each and every day. Some heroes drive fire trucks, ambulances, and patrol cars. Other heroes wear stethoscopes, use lifeguard whistles and write lesson plans. Join us in getting to know some special local heroes while learning and experiencing what it means to be a hero everyday with your own family and friends!

SPORTS SPECTACULAR WEEK
June 27 - July 1

Pucks, paddles, hoops, balls, scores and more! Join us for a week that will explore sports of every kind and what it takes to build special skills for different sports. We will learn from real athletes how we can fuel our bodies and train our minds so we can be part of the team and work hard to make yourself proud!

 LAND OF THE FREE WEEK
July 5 - 8 (Closed July 4th)

Come and learn some interesting things that make Ohio special like our Native American heritage and Amish communities. We will explore many things that help make the Untied States so special through virtual travels across the country, holding class elections and meeting some special people.

AROUND THE WORLD IN 5 DAYS WEEK
July 11 - 15

Get your very own Passport and ”travel” with us to Columbia, Norway, China, Italy, and Scotland! With the help of some of our favorite Disney friends, we will explore other places through books, food, videos, maps and languages. Each day will immerse us in a new culture!

DR SEUSS WEEK
July 18 - 22

This week gets turned upside down and inside out as we enter the wacky world of Dr. Seuss. We will read several Dr. Seuss stories and discover how the experiences of many characters teach important life lessons and values while also allowing us to have some fun that will help instill a love of rhyming and silly stories in our campers of all ages! We will have a Crazy Hat Day, Silly Sock Day, and Wacky Wednesday as campers experience many of the wonderful books he wrote.

CULINARY SCHOOL WEEK
July 25 - 29

Put on your chef hat and jacket and join us for this unique opportunity to explore all things culinary! We will experience the art, science, math, nutrition and business of food through demonstrations, hands-on fun, and field trips as we learn all that it means to be a chef! This tasty week is one you won’t want to miss!

MAD SCIENTISTS/STEM WEEK
August 1 - 5

Did you know anyone can be an inventor?? Come experiment and create with us as we explore the many ways inventions have helped us solve everyday problems throughout time. We will learn about inventors like DaVinci, George Washington Carver, Ruth Handler, Margret Knight, Marie Van Brittan Brown, and Steve Jobs, just to name a few. We will use critical-thinking, creative problem-solving, see chemical reactions, and make things fly, grind and go as we build and tinker. Campers will also have the opportunity to apply for their own special patent! This will be a busy and hands-on week.

RETRO WEEK
August 8 - 12

Go back in time with us as we visit the sock hops and diners of the 50s, the tye-dyed free spirit of the 60s, the big hair and vintage video games of the 80s, and the flannel, scrunchies and neon of the 90s! We will have a week full of music, technological evolution, historical highlights, and dress up days. We will finish the week with an end of summer Talent Show that all we be invited to watch!

State-licensed program through ODJFS and received our Step Up to Quality three-star rating. Our lunches and snacks follow the USDA Summer Food Service Program guidelines.

 What should my child wear?

Every day at camp is an adventure and to make sure your child can have the best time possible they should always wear a t-shirt, comfortable shorts, socks, and tennis shoes. No open-toed shoes or shoes without backs. Bring their swimsuit and a towel!

  

Can my child come two days out of the week?

Yes! We offer flexibility, so your child can attend on whichever days work for your family. Each week is billed as a whole week regardless of attendance.

Can I choose which days Before and After care are given?

Yes, Before and After care for all five days are included in the extra fee. You can pick and choose which days you use.

What should my child bring?
A  labeled water bottle and a positive attitude! Please leave all electronics and personal items at home.
Does my child have to attend all summer?

You choose which weeks best fit your family. Some might choose all summer, but others might only need a week here and there.

Scholarships are available!
For those families in need, scholarships are available for Summer Day Camp on a case-by-case basis. Applications should be submitted as soon as possible. If you would like to be considered, please fill out the Scholarship Form and return to the front desk to apply. Please note, filling out a scholarship form does not guarantee a space in camp.
