Thanks to the generosity of the New England Community Services Inc, the Boston Kroc Center will provide three dedicate programs focused on engaging teens this summer. Hosted by our Program Department, these programs will provide a safe space for teens to build community, opportunities for professional development, and build skills. Our Teen Initiative will kick off our summer with a Teen Pool Party on Friday July 1. All teens ages 13 - 18 are welcome.
(for Athletes) - Limited to 12 participants Our new Teen Strength & Conditioning Program offers an innovative and customized strength and conditioning experience for young athletes based on the use of proven scientific methodologies. This specialized athletic training program is designed for youth ages 13 - 18 of all fitness and abilities levels. We strive to empower all participants to achieve optimal strength, conditioning, and athletic performance results. By participating in this program, these young athletes will enhance their athletic performance to become stronger, faster, more explosive, and with greater wellness education. PRogram registration is required; space is limited.
The Junior Lifeguard program is designed for teens ages 14 - 15. Our summer cohort will engage six teens. The mission of the Junior Lifeguard program is to educate young men and women in basic first aid and lifesaving skills while developing the next generation of lifeguards and future leaders. Junior Lifeguarding has a strong focus on developing both swimming and rescuing skills. Participants will be introduced to in-water rescues, CPR, First Aid skills, use of lifeguarding equipment, shadowing certified lifeguards, and assisting Swim Instructors with entry level classes. This program also strives to teach self-confidence, teamwork, and leadership. As a Junior Lifeguard, students will witness and experience first-hand what it takes to become a lifeguard through hands-on demonstrations, skills and team building activities, and mock rescue exercises.
Each Thursday the Enrichment & Education Department will host special activity nights for youth ages 13 - 18. These nights will include Ultimate Game Nights (with a game truck), Paint Night, Movie Night, and Tournament Game night.
