Adopt Lehigh Valley Kids is a partnership between The Salvation Army Children's Services and WFMZ-69 News. Each month, a Pennsylvania child is featured in a segment that airs on WFMZ-69 News, introducing them to the community as one of the many local children who are waiting for an adoptive family. Since launching in July 2016, the amazing children who filmed their segments have participated in fun activities based on their interests, supported by generous local businesses and organizations.
Adopt Lehigh Valley Kids segments have raised awareness not only to the need of a forever family for featured children, but also for the more than 2,000 other children in Pennsylvania who are waiting for someone to welcome them home. Adopt Lehigh Valley Kids airs on WFMZ-69 News the first Friday evening and Saturday morning of each month.
Jason is our Adopt Lehigh Valley Kids featured child for January 2020. 19 year-old Jason is a kind hearted young man who goes out of his way to help others. Although he doesn't have any expressive language skills, his big smile and eyes let you know how he’s feeling. He does have a communication device that he uses. He loves spending time with his friends watching action movies or playing outdoors. He has just learned how to play UNO, and would love to challenge you to a game! Jason enjoys one-on-one time with adults, but is also open to the idea of older siblings. Although he doesn't currently live with any pets, he likes both dogs and cats. He wants a family who would maybe take him to see a baseball game at Yankee stadium, followed by dinner anywhere that serves burgers and ice cream, nothing fancy and no peanut butter! Jason had a blast at Prime Martial Arts in Bethlehem in a lesson with Sensei Joe Kortbawi. Watch Jason in action now!
