After School

After School Program

The Salvation Army After School program is designed for K-5 children whose parents work later than normal school hours. In the afternoon, we meet the children at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School at 2:00pm. From there, they are brought to our facility for a snack, homework assistance, and other scheduled activities. The program ends at 5:30pm. We run in alignment with the School District of Philadelphia’s calendar. Applications for Summer Camp are available in March and applications for Fall program begin to be accepted in July.

*The provider operating this program does not discriminate against any group as distinction to race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.

The Salvation Army betters your child life

We support the out-of-school time programs, specifically Music and Dance Education for students in pre-k to 6th grade. The overarching goal of The Salvation Army’s out-of-school time programs are to foster productive children and promote fruitful lives from youth into adulthood. This is accomplished through a positive, well-rounded growth experience.

As the mission of The Salvation Army is to meet the human needs of all people in their respective communities, programs aim to address the most basic needs of children as it relates to education and exploration. With education, youth will be prepared to flourish in their future careers; through exploration, their knowledge is broadened to relate to the larger world and they find new interests which aid in self-discovery.
