The Salvation Army’s Police Assisted Diversion (PAD) Program provides a trauma informed, participant centered, and collaborative program for adults exploited by the commercial sex industry in Philadelphia. PAD is a Pre-Arrest Diversion model, which involves a unique collaboration between Law Enforcement, Social Service Providers, and Local Government aiming to reduce recidivism in the by providing social services to individuals committing the crime of prostitution. We do this by providing services from a dynamic team approach, with Victim Advocates, Clinical Social Workers, and Peer Specialists after the individual has encountered Law Enforcement. We believe PAD participants are the experts of their own lives. As a result, we partner with them to improve public health and safety by reducing future harm and criminal behavior for individuals in commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking.
