Smiles Make the Greatest Gifts
Providing much needed assistance during the holiday season
Donate NowEvery year, parents must choose between giving their children gifts or paying bills. Individuals facing poverty often spend the holidays without the warmth of a shared meal or even a support system.
The holidays can bring added financial and emotional stress to families and individuals living in poverty. From gifts for children in need to special meals for those who would otherwise go without fellowship on the holidays and meeting other basic needs - we aim to bring joy back into the season.
Red Kettles
The Annual Red Kettle is our biggest fundraising event. This program represents the community spirit of giving at its best— through the funds that are raised and the hundreds of volunteers who make this effort possible. We are always seeking volunteers and groups to ring bells at our iconic red kettles.
El Red Kettle anual es nuestro mayor evento de recaudación de fondos. Adopt-a-Family
All families should be able to experience the joy of Christmas morning. Our Adopt-a-Family program allows local agencies, participating businesses, and groups to meet more comprehensive material needs for families beyond toys and food for Christmas. As there are many in need during the Christmas holiday season, please know that if you are chosen for this program, you won’t need to receive gifts from any other programs.
Todas las familias deberían poder experimentar la alegría de la mañana de Navidad. Nuestro programa Adopt-a-Family permite que las agencias locales, las empresas participantes y los grupos satisfagan necesidades materiales más amplias para las familias, más allá de los juguetes y la comida para Navidad. Angel Tree
Our Angel Tree program provides warm winter clothing, toys, and other needed items to children up to 12 years of age. Participants select a child to shop for and purchase gifts from their Christmas wishlist. Families can sign up for assistance during the fall. As there are many in need during the Christmas holiday season, please know that if you are chosen for this program, you won’t need to receive gifts from any other programs.

Nuestro programa Angel Tree ofrece ropa de abrigo para el invierno, juguetes y otros artículos necesarios para niños de hasta 12 años de edad. Los participantes seleccionan un niño para el que comprar y compran regalos de su lista de deseos navideños. Las familias pueden inscribirse para recibir ayuda durante el otoño. Toys for Kids
We partner with Friends of the Poor Scranton, the Catherine McAuley Center, and Catholic Social Services to distribute Christmas toys to children in need across the Scranton region.

Everyone should be able to enjoy a Christmas dinner with their loved ones. We distribute Christmas Dinner food boxes with ingredients to serve a traditional Christmas dinner right at home.
