The Salvation Army ensures kids are equipped with the tools they need to succeed, which starts by meeting their basic needs.
We take a holistic approach by providing programs with life-long impact such as afterschool programs, summer camp opportunities, music education and more. At the core of all that we do for youth, fighting for them is synonymous with sharing God's love and grace.
The Salvation Army Empowers Youth by:
Youth Music & Arts (YMA)
A program for school-age youth up to age 16. Youth will learn music theory and apply knowledge to reading music via instrument, singing, or other arts programs like drama, dance, and more. YMA meets Thursdays and Fridays during the school year. For more information, call us at (570) 969-6399, or email us. Those who participate can attend monthly regional music programs with youth from across Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware as well as go to Camp Ladore in the summer.
Música y Artes Juveniles
Un programa para jóvenes en edad escolar hasta los 16 años. Los jóvenes aprenderán teoría musical y aplicarán conocimientos a la lectura de música a través de instrumentos o canto y otros programas artísticos como teatro, danza y más. We help send and sponsor youth ages 7-16 from our Scranton Service Area to summer camp at beautiful Camp Ladore in Waymart, PA. Learn more about camp here.
