We open our arms and our hearts to give families the support they need to grow together and thrive.
At The Salvation Army in Scranton, we ensure that the basic needs of families are met so that they can develop together in a healthy fashion. We meet these needs through providing clothing and utility assistance for those who need it.
The Salvation Army helps families thrive through:
Emergency Clothing Assistance
Clothing voucher assistance (to be used at The Salvation Army Family Store) is available for those who have experienced a disaster (fire, flood, storm, etc.), medical emergency, or for those coming out of incarceration when funding is available. An intake appointment is required. Valid identification, proof of household income, and expenses are required.
Asistencia con ropa de emergencia
La asistencia con vales para ropa (para ser utilizada en The Salvation Army Family Store) está disponible para quienes han experimentado un desastre (incendio, inundación, tormenta, etc.), una emergencia médica o para quienes salen de su encarcelamiento cuando hay fondos disponibles. Se requiere una cita de admisión. Se requiere identificación válida, prueba de ingresos y gastos del hogar.
Utility Assistance
Assistance for UGI and Pennsylvania American Water is available through intake and verification of income, household expenses, and the number of individuals in the household. Grants will be awarded according to need once a calendar year and as funding is available to assist.
We also hold Customer Assistance Events where the utility companies, Pennsylvania Utility Law Project (LIHEAP & LIURP), and other community organizations attend and meet with our neighbors who need assistance with their utility bills (March, July, August, November).
Asistencia de servicios públicos
La asistencia para UGI y Pennsylvania American Water está disponible a través de la admisión y verificación de ingresos, gastos del hogar y la cantidad de personas en el hogar. Las subvenciones se otorgarán según las necesidades una vez al año calendario y según haya fondos disponibles para ayudar.
También realizamos eventos de asistencia al cliente donde las compañías de servicios públicos, el Proyecto de Ley de Servicios Públicos de Pensilvania (LIHEAP y LIURP) y otras organizaciones comunitarias asisten y se reúnen con nuestros vecinos que necesitan ayuda con sus facturas de servicios públicos (marzo, julio, agosto y noviembre).
