Golf 4 Kids 2023
A full field of golfers hit the links on May 10 to help send Hoosier children in need to summer camp. The Salvation Army's annual Golf 4 Kids outing raises funds to give kids from across the state an adventure of a lifetime during a week-long stay at Hidden Falls Camp.
Held amidst the rolling terrain and breathtaking views at The Fort Golf Course, this year’s outing hosted 132 golfers using a team scramble format. Players enjoyed friendly rivalry on the challenging Pete Dye-designed course that is consistently ranked as one of the top public golf courses in the nation. The competition continued in the bidding for a number of remarkable silent auction items. High bidders won unique experiences from dining at local restaurants to family excursions and premier vacation packages.
The fun continued with a post-golf reception and awards ceremony emceed by The Salvation Army of Central Indiana Advisory Board member and WTHR meteorologist, Chuck Lofton. Winning the Corporate Challenge was the Coke Consolidated team comprised of members Jonah Stevens, Chris Miller, Todd Craney, and Thad Craney. Taking second place in the Corporate Challenge was Flexware Innovation’s Troy Lenz, Matt Heiden, Karson Nixon, and Mike Chevalier.
Thanks to the generous support of Title Sponsor, Jiffy Lube of Indiana, sponsors, golfers and silent auction bidders, Golf 4 Kids raised more than $46,000 that will provide week-long camping experiences for at least 90 children.
Campers will enjoy outdoor activities like archery, high ropes courses, mountain biking, and swimming at The Salvation Army's 700-acre Hidden Falls Camp in beautiful southern Indiana. They will explore nature, learn new skills, meet peers and mentors, and hear about the love of God. Hidden Falls Camp makes these experiences possible for kids of all backgrounds who might not otherwise get to experience God's creation outside of a metro area.
We are grateful to the many volunteers, sponsors, and participants who helped make Golf 4 Kids such a success. We look forward to next year’s outing and encourage golf enthusiasts to watch for registration.
