Holiday Assistance
Every year, parents must choose between giving their children gifts or paying bills. Individuals facing poverty often spend the holidays without the warmth of a shared meal or even a support system.
The holidays bring added financial and emotional stress to families and individuals living in poverty. From gifts for children in need to special meals for those who would otherwise go without fellowship on the holidays and meeting other basic needs - we aim to bring joy back into the season.
Required Documents
- Birth certificates for all children ages 16 and under
- Photo ID for Parent or guardian
- Proof of Address
- Valid email address is required to make an appointment

- You may only apply to one agency
- No requests for bikes, computer, video games, etc.
Lowell Radiothon
It’s hard to believe that Christmas is almost here! This year we continue to see the affects of inflation upon our daily lives. The Salvation Army is continuing to help meet the needs of our neighbors who have been affected by this inflation as well as the long term effects of the pandemic. The need is great and The Salvation Army will do its best to make help those in need with the support from the Greater Lowell community.
If you have been one of our 980 WCAP Radiothon partners, we want to thank you for all your help and generosity in the past. If this is your first opportunity to help, welcome to the team! We hope you can lend a hand in this special effort during this season. Please consider helping to raise a cash pledge among your family, friends and co-workers. Set a goal, work together, and know that you are investing in the lives of our neighbors. We are grateful for anything you raise because every dollar helps those in need,
Our goal is to raise $200,000 at the Radiothon.
This will help to provide 1,300 food baskets for families on Thanksgiving
and Christmas and toys & clothing to over 1,500 children!
Additionally, these funds are used to help thousands of people
throughout the entire year.
Our 980 WCAP Radiothon is December 10th from 6am - 2pm at the studios of 980 WCAP, 61 Market Street, Lowell MA. Tune in and bid on hundreds of Auction Items, bring your donations to the studio that morning, or mail them to the Salvation Army at 150 Appleton Street, Lowell MA 01852. Make checks out to “Salvation Army Radiothon”. If you have an auction item you would like to donate, we would be happy to pick it up. Bids can be made on auction items online.
