Information Session: Introduction to Emergency Disaster Services
Now is your chance to learn more about The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services (EDS). We are offering three short, 90-minute Introduction to EDS Trainings. These free informational sessions will be held virtually and in-person this February. While these trainings are offered mainly for the purpose of teaching new volunteers and developing teams, they provide a great opportunity for community partners, advisory board members, or interested friends and collaborators to learn about The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services. All sessions will include an opportunity to engage and ask questions.
Emergency Disaster Services Local Response Program
Discover what The Salvation Army does during national large-scale or smaller local disasters during this training. Whether it is a structure fire, a regional storm, a missing person search, or other crisis, you will learn about our typical sequence of delivery, types of resources that we provide, how we are building and preparing a team, different roles for volunteers. Groups may also participate in a simple short tabletop exercise. Whether you are considering becoming an EDS Volunteer or are an existing partner who wants to learn more, this is a great opportunity to get more involved!
