The “miracle” of Christmas is repeated over and over again through the joy of caring and sharing. Donations and financial assistance provide Christmas dinners, clothing, and toys for families in need, including families of prisoners. Volunteers distribute gifts to shut-ins in hospitals and nursing homes, and shelters are open for sit-down dinners. The Salvation Army endeavors to bring spiritual light and love to those it serves at Christmas so that the real meaning of the season is not forgotten.
Many families receive aid over a period of months after the Christmas season, as well as people struggling with difficult family, emotional, or employment problems.
Christmas in July offers the opportunity for families to receive assistance similar to what they would receive at Christmas, in a time when there is still a great need.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program is an opportunity to spread joy to struggling families during the holidays. Local businesses and retail locations host our special Angel Trees that allow donors to adopt "angels" by selecting a tag with the needs of a local child. The donor fulfills the Christmas wishes on the tag by selecting age-appropriate gifts of toys and clothing and returning the unwrapped gifts to the location on the tag.
Sponsor a family that is in need through our Adopt-A-Family program. This program connects impoverished families with individual or group sponsors to provide gifts and tangible needs at Christmas.
Sponsors come in many shapes and sizes. They can be individuals, families, small businesses, or large corporations. Many sponsors find the experience so fulfilling that they participate in the program year after year.
Note: By registering for Adopt-A-Family the sponsor is committing to providing gifts for the entire family.
