What is the Learning Zone?
The Salvation Army Learning Zone at Asbury Park is an education-based afterschool program that is committed to helping families and children maximize their educational experience. We believe that learning can be fun and understand that children each possess individual learning styles. The Learning Zone provides a positive atmosphere of encouragement and security where children learn in an environment devoid of criticism, comparisons, and stress. With avid staff, educational resources, and small group sizes, we provide a safe and fun academic environment that develops children’s independence and confidence.

** Applications may be submitted online or hardcopy, however all applications must be fully verified before they will be considered for admission. Under no circumstance will an application be considered for admission unless it is fully verified. There is a $25 application fee per application submitted. Payment of fees are part of the verification process. Failure to pay fee(s) for any child, will result in the application not being fully verified and therefore will not be considered for admission. **

The tuition for the Salvation Army Learning Zone is 100 dollars a week. We understand that some of our families might need assistance with covering this cost. Child Care Resources of Monmouth County is a program focused on helping New Jersey families pay for childcare. List of needed documents for Child Care Resources:
A month’s worth of original paystubs OR school/training registration
Documentation of additional income, including child support, alimony, SSI, additional employment, unemployment, and disability benefits, etc.
If you receive child support, please submit proof of child support payments for the last six months through probation. If you do not receive your payments through probation, please submit a letter from the responsible party stating the details of your payment arrangement
Copy of each child’s birth certificate and Social Security card
Proof of Food Stamps and Housing Assistance, if you receive it.
If you are self-employed, please include a copy of your Schedule C or C-EZ and the tax transcript from your most recent tax return.
Do not forget to include your co-applicant (the co-applicant must meet the same eligibility guidelines).
