Dear Friends,

Thousands of lives were touched by our ministries last year in Mount Vernon and throughout Knox County.

When COVID-19 brought fear across our country, and devastated our economy, The Salvation Army officers and staff remained on the front lines providing basic human needs with love and encouragement. Your generosity empowered us to expand our services to meet the needs of our friends and neighbors. We are at our best when we come together as a community. As a result, Knox County has been lifted up with hope as we now move into the recovery phase from the pandemic.

Meeting people in their time of need, and communicating the love of God through practical expressions of compassion is the mission of The Salvation Army.

With friends like you, The Salvation Army will continue doing the most good, to the most people in the most need; carrying out our commitment of meeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

May God bless you.

Sincerely,
Christine Moretz, Captain
Commanding Officer, The Salvation Army of Mount Vernon
