Early Care & Education: Some of our facilities offer full-day, year-round childcare programming. Akron currently serves children 18 months - 5 years old. Mount Vernon currently serves children 6 weeks - 5 years old. In addition to early care and education, they both offer after-school programs for children 6-12 years of age. This ensures children in these communities have many years to grow with The Salvation Army Learning Zone! 

After School Tutoring: Many of our locations offer an after-school program.  Some programs have the opportunity to offer students personalized tutoring in reading and math. Each student undergoes an initial assessment upon enrollment to tailor the learning experience to their needs. Our students often participate in other extra-curricular activities at our Corps locations such as Music & Arts programs. Offerings vary from each Salvation Army location. Both programs are designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities and academic enrichment.

Summer Enrichment Camp: Many locations provide a summer day camp for children ages 6 to 12 in their community.  With a large focus on academic enrichment through play, hands-on activities, and field trips, students are set up for success in the summer.
