Salvation Army 8th Annual “Kettle Blitz” Day
For the eighth consecutive year The Salvation Army will hold a Kettle Blitz Day throughout Northern New England on Thursday, December 16th.
With the resurgence of the pandemic The Salvation Army is seeing a significant decrease in funds raised and lack of workers through the iconic red kettles. Every donation provides help and hope to those in need. The public’s support is urgently needed to ensure that services and programs continue during the holidays and throughout the year.
The Divisional Kettle Blitz is a one-day competition among Salvation Army corps aimed at increasing donations since the division is 30% behind its goal compared to last year’s income at this time. Donations can be made digitally with Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo at any red kettle this year.
In addition to giving directly to the red kettle, The Salvation Army has provided other options to donate this year.
- Give any amount by texting “KETTLE” to 51555
- Virtual Red Kettle – https://give.salvationarmy.org/VirtualKettle
- Ask Amazon Alexa to donate by saying, “Alexa, donate to The Salvation Army,” then specify the amount
- Digitally with Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Venmo at any Salvation Army kettle
The Salvation Army continues protocols to ensure the health and safety of our Bell Ringers and supporters.
The Salvation Army set a goal of $1,712,000 in its Northern New England Division which covers Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Last year because of COVID The Salvation Army had lost half of its 300 kettle locations. This year, the organization has more than 200 Red kettles strategically located at major retailers.
The Salvation Army’s Christmas ministry includes the distribution of toys to needy youngsters, food baskets and food vouchers, warm winter coats and so much more during the rest of the year. Last year in Northern New England, The Salvation Army assisted more than 95,000 individuals during the holidays and throughout the year.
The following Salvation Army Corps will be competing in the Kettle “Blitz” Day. Stop by and support the “Community Kettle”, which is the featured kettle location for this day. Donations can also be made at any other kettles in each community. All funds stay locally.
