2023 Fall Recreation Programs 

Come and explore our new Fitness and Recreation programs for Youth ages 5 through 16. We have exciting activities that will keep them busy and moving! Register online through Sunday (9/24) or visit our Member Services desk for more information.

Basketball Skills and Drills 

Youth will learn stationary ball handling routine that improve rhythm, feel, and coordination with the basketball. Dribbles move to help you blow by the defense. Shooting, how to position your feet and align your body to increase the chance of shooting the ball straight. Lay Ups / Finishing techniques used to reduce turnovers and make more shots. In addition to, 1 on 1 finishing drills that ingrain good habits while competing in a fun way.

Karate

The curriculum will capture the basic techniques of Shotokan karate (which is one of the four major Japanese karate systems practiced in the USA) for beginners and later intermediate level students.  This involves the basics principles of punching, striking, kicking, and blocking. Basic movement to Increase overall strength and flexibility; ethical behavior and application are also incorporated. competitive skills and teamwork.

Kroc Kids Power Hour

This fun filled youth training class consists of enjoyable exercises to strengthen the heart as well as help develop strong muscles with aerobic endurance using your own body weight. Participants will do a series of movements including (jump squats, pushups, crunches, burpees, planks, jogging etc.)

Kroc Pre-Teen Healthy Me

In this class kids will participant is fun drills and obstacle courses that will work to condition and train their body. Some exercises will be split in teams to assist in networking, teach competitive skills and teamwork.

Let’s Keep It Moving 

We stretch, lift weights, shadow box, and lift more weights, using intervals and supersets. Come lose fat, build muscle, and increase your aerobic capacity. We’ll keep it moving!

Tai Chi Quan

Youth will learn a thousand-year-old Traditional Martial Arts System that will strengthen their body, mind, and spirit, what the Ancient Chinese called Qi (aka Energy). They will learn the actual foundations of their favorite anime, like “Naruto” and “Dragon Ball Z”!
