The Kind Family Resource Center

Stop by for a Visit | Mon to Fri - 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

The Kind Family Resource Center is where The Salvation Army is in it's truest form. A place of help, of giving, and care when needed. The better question is 'what don't we do'!? Conveniently located at the entrance to the Kroc Center, this in-house program refers and/or assists individuals with a myriad of concerns and needs.

We offer emergency food, budget/fiscal counsel, nutrition information and we coordinate the Wells Fargo Financial Planning classes that are conducted at the Kroc [for people of all ages – youth, teens, adults, Golden]. We offer Holiday assistance, and pastoral care referral to our on-site pastoral care team. The Kind Family Resource Center conducts a free GED class Mondays from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for persons age 18 and above. The Kind Family Resource Center also serves as the registration point for families who wish to enroll their children in our Summer Day Camp and Homework Zone. Horticulture Zone

 If you've ever been interested in learning about growing vegetables and flowers you are welcome in our third of an acre garden. Our Horticulture Zone also includes a hoop house, a composting area, and room for growing flowers. Our garden is 100% organic with no chemicals or pesticides being used.

Performing Arts

A wide variety of music offerings for ages 6 - 17 (unless otherwise noted) and varying levels of experience: Brass instruments, piano lessons, percussion, orchestra, musical theatre, and more! Students are taught by experienced performers and educators who care deeply about each student’s musical development.  A $29 fee will be applied monthly to non-members.

Amici Consort

Sunday, October 23 • 3:30pm

Playing a variety of Italian classical music combined with this ensembles rich heritage in the Klezmer style, we are thrilled to host the inaugural Kroc Fall Concert series with the Amici Consort. Featuring piano, a string trio, and trumpet, this ensemble will certainly be a highlight of delight for what is shaping to be a great Sunday afternoon of musical enjoyment!

PhilHarmonia Sings!

To open their 9th season, PhilHarmonia is grateful to present A Harvest of Harmony; an autumnal concert exploring concepts of nurture, resilience, and harvest both in our lives and in our community. With a variety of music - from Giovanni Palestrina of the Renaissance era, the Romantic composers Fanny Mendelssohn and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, to modern music by Jackson Hill, Joni Mitchell and more - we look forward to sharing the abundance of our songs and joyful voices. Join us at the Salvation Army Kroc Center for this special Fall season performance.

Philly Kroc Jazz Orchestra

The Philly Kroc Jazz Orchestra will be playing a variety of styles representing the members favorite styles of music. With selections from arrangers such as Tom Kubis to Kris Berg, and a few from our music director Jon C. Gardner. Stop by for what is sure to be a heavy swinging good time of music and laughter as we kick off our 10th season.


Sunday, November 13 • 3:30pm

ENAensemble presents the next iteration of their Serial Opera Project, a multi-month performance of a new chamber opera in three parts, written by three different composer-librettist teams and centered loosely around the theme of “the celestial.” Each performance in the series will feature a premiere of the next part of the opera, as well as selected chamber works and a song for voice and one instrument as part of ENAensemble’s New Song Series. Join us for what is sure to be a “otherworldly” operatic experience.

Fascination: The University of Delaware Undergraduate Brass Quintet

Sunday, November 20 • 3:30pm

To cap off our Fall Concert Series, we are pleased to host the University of Delaware Undergraduate Brass Quintet, Fascination. With selections from Samuel Schiedt, Victor Ewald, Anthony Dilorenzo, Astor Piazzolla, and Enrique Crespo; this journey through the brass quintet classics will certainly captivate all audience members alike.

Let's Play!

Let's Play is an intensive music instruction course for children in partnership with TuneUP Philly. We offer small group instruction with Teaching Artist as well as ensemble instruction and many performance opportunities through out the year.

This is a year long program starting September 19, 2022 and ending June 6, 2023. Monday, Wednesday,  and Thursday from 4:30 – 6:30pm in our Wells Fargo Conference Center. For students age 7 – 12 . We offer group instruction on Violin, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, and Trumpet.

Guitar is able to accompany a soloist or group, play as part of an ensemble, or be a solo instrument in its own right. Both versatile and portable, guitar is a wonderful instrument.

Jazz Band

The Jazz Band at the Kroc Center is an opportunity for musicians to come together and create exciting, quality music. The group is open to all ages, although minimum playing standards apply. Players must read music. Space is limited, so players will be selected by audition.

Music Production Studio

Under the leadership of trained music producers, we offer access to the most current music technology for people to explore their creativity.  After a training session the studio is available based on scheduling. For students age 15 and up
