Rhode Island Salvation Army Music Summer Camp

Jul 28, 2022

During the week of July 5-8, approximately 25 students participated in a special music camp held at The Salvation Army’s Pawtucket Corps Community Center, located on High Street.

The camp was free and open to children and young adults living in Rhode Island. This year, the summer program consisted of students, ages 7 and up, from across Rhode Island. The lessons were taught by Salvation Army officers and staff featuring guitar, brass, and piano, and assisted by parents and volunteers.

The program was held four mornings, beginning with a devotional time before the lessons then lunch and games following. At the end of the week, parents and loved ones were invited to the students’ concert and lunch with social time. The Salvation Army in Rhode Island will offer this same music program, beginning in September, once per month on Saturday mornings, at no charge to anyone who would like to be a part of it.
