WJAR | A Summer of Stories and Snacks with The Salvation Army
In this segment of Studio10, host Mario Hilario learns more about The Salvation Army’s Summer Reading Program - A Summer of Stories and Snacks.
The program aims to provide books and food for children in Rhode Island this summer. The program is in its fourth year, but will debut in Rhode Island this summer. Around 4,000 books and 1,800 lunches have been served through the program so far. For each of these outings, a book is chosen for storytelling as the children enjoy a well-balanced lunch.
