Financial Support for Your Community Image

Financial Support for Your Community

Our Financial Saviors

The generosity of our donors helps sustain programs and services each year in Fairfield County, and we’re so grateful for their ongoing support and compassion for those in need here in our community. We truly couldn’t provide the services and programs we do without your support.

There are several ways to provide financial support to The Salvation Army in Fairfield County, and ultimately, your neighbors in need. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact Captain Bryan DeMichael at bryan.demichael@use.salvationarmy.org. We’d love to have a conversation with you about how your support will make a difference right here in our community!

Ways to Contribute Financially

Monetary Donations

Monetary gifts are an excellent way to provide The Salvation Army with the immediate funds necessary to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people we serve. These donations include checks, money orders, and credit card donations, which can be given through our secured online donation site, through the mail, or by phone.

Donations remain local and are used to make a difference in Fairfield County.

Donations by Mail
Please do not send cash via the mail. Checks or money orders are a safer method to send a contribution by mail and should be made payable to The Salvation Army and mailed to:

Sharing is Caring

Donations by Telephone
To make a Fairfield County donation by credit card, please call 513-762-5639. Please have your credit card information ready when you call.

Donate Online
While making a secured online donation to The Salvation Army, your gift can be designated for the benefit of a specific program or service, or for The Salvation Army's general use and purposes in your area. You can specify where you want your money to go and how you would like it used at the time of your donation.

Additionally, through The Salvation Army's online form you can also make a gift in memory of someone, in honor of someone or even set up an ongoing, recurring gift.

Online Red Kettle
Another great way to support The Salvation Army in the online arena is to participate in the Online Red Kettle program. We encourage you to visit our Virtual Red Kettle page, and consider how you can sponsor an online kettle, join others that have sponsored an online kettle, have online competitions among team kettles, and the like. It's a fun, convenient and community-building way to help The Salvation Army.

Regardless of how you choose to provide support to The Salvation Army, we sincerely Thank You for your contribution!

Bonds, Funds & Stocks

Stocks or Bonds
Giving stocks or bonds to The Salvation Army in Fairfield County may provide you with powerful tax benefits. If you have owned securities for more than one year and the fair market value has increased since you purchased them, you can avoid capital gains tax and receive a charitable gift income tax deduction equal to the fair market value.

Real Estate
A gift of real estate that has been held for more than a year also has the advantage of providing you with a charitable deduction based on the current fair market value, as well as bypassing capital gains tax on the appreciation.

Gifts that Provide Income

Some financial vehicles provide the opportunity for you to donate funds to help the mission of The Salvation Army while providing income for yourself. These vehicles include:

  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts
  • Charitable Lead Trusts

For an effective, interactive way to see how one of these vehicles can benefit you, we encourage to create a personal gift plan to see what your income and tax benefits could be.

For more information on implementing any of these charitable, income-generating financial vehicles with The Salvation Army, please contact The Salvation Army Planned Giving Dept. at 513-762-5600.

Matching Gifts

Many companies provide the opportunity for employees' gifts to charity to be matched by corporate contributions. This provides a means to multiply your contribution, which expands the ability of The Salvation Army to better serve those in need within our community.

We encourage you, when making any gift or donation to The Salvation Army, to check with your employer about a matching gift program.

If you have any questions about Matching Gifts, please contact Captain Bryan DeMichael at 740-687-1921 ext. 1001.

Planned Giving, Wills & Gift Annuities

You can positively impact our community from something as simple as a bequest to integrating sophisticated strategies that would allow you to receive income as you are liquidating/selling an important asset, like a business, stock, or real property. Most of our friends and supporters are surprised to learn that they can make charitable gifts, particularly bequests, in ways that won't necessarily diminish what they might leave their heirs. There's even a way to make a short-term "loan" to The Salvation Army from special assets like dividend-producing stocks so that you get your asset back or gift it tax-free to your heirs, but that's a little too complex to get into here.

If you are considering including The Salvation Army as a beneficiary of your will or estate it is important to note that there is no such organization legally recognized as "The Salvation Army of Fairfield County". The Army operates in our region as a New York organization, under a shared tax number with the parent headquarters (something unique to our particular charity). The Planned Giving Director for The Salvation Army in Cincinnati (which supports The Salvation Army of Fairfield County) can help construct the proper bequest language consistent with your legacy goals to ensure your charitable intent is allocated as you intend, particularly if you wish to help our local ministries and operations.

For more information, please contact The Salvation Army Planned Giving department in Cincinnati at 513-762-5600. This department supports and represents The Salvation Army in Fairfield County.
