The Salvation Army, the largest non-governmental direct provider of social services,works to enhance our communities and make long-lasting positive changes. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children.

Salvation Army Organizational Structure
For administrative purposes, The Salvation Army USA is divided into four territories: the Eastern Territory with headquarters in West Nyack, New York; the Central Territory with headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois; the Southern Territory with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia; and the Western Territory with headquarters in Long Beach, California.
Territories are made up of smaller units known as divisions. There are 40 divisions of The Salvation Army in the United States. Divisions consist of corps community centers for worship and service, which are the most basic units of The Salvation Army, and various specialized service centers. Each corps provides religious and social services that are adapted to meet local needs under the direction of their supervising corps officer.

All local media are asked to first contact their local Salvation Army representative for assistance with their inquiries or to speak to a local Salvation Army spokesperson.
