Michael W. Smith Concerts Gives to The Salvation Army

Oct 21, 2021

Cleveland, OH. (October 21st, 2021) – Awakening Foundation and Altura HealthShare have teamed up with The Salvation Army to support individuals and families in need. Contemporary Christian artist Michael W. Smith will present a donation to The Salvation Army at Grace Church in Middleburg Heights on Thursday, October 21st. The donation will support Salvation Army programs to help Clevelanders still recovering economically from the pandemic.

The Salvation Army has worked nonstop since the start of the pandemic to provide help and hope to those in need by providing shelter to those experiencing homelessness, meal services to those experiencing food insecurity, and emotional and spiritual care to those needing support.

"I am thrilled and delighted with our Fall events line up and the continued partnership with Salvation Army to make a tangible impact in each of the local communities we are visiting,” said Dan Fife, president and founder of Awakening Foundation. “ This past year our team faced some of the biggest challenges in the history of live events. Faith and courage helped us face those obstacles; and we have found blessings and gratitude on the other side of all the hard work and grit. Our team is honored to come alongside The Salvation Army to support the important work happening on the front lines of those in need.”

The concert tours shows are adhering to local and venue requirements as it relates to COVID-19 to ensure families and friends can safely enjoy live music again.

“With the ongoing impact of COVID-19 and emerging variants, The Salvation Army in Greater Cleveland anticipates requests for service to increase by 25% this holiday season,” said Major Thomas Applin from Divisional Secretary of Greater Cleveland Area Services. “The gift from Awakening Foundation and Altrua HealthShare along with the public’s generosity helps The Salvation Army provide hope to thousands of individuals and families in need.”

Thanks to supporters like Awakening Foundation and Altrua HealthShare, since the start of the pandemic, The Salvation Army in Greater Cleveland has provided:

  • 63,430 meals
  • 70,647 food boxes
