Salvation Army Invites Volunteers to Ring the Iconic Red Kettle Bell

Cleveland, OH (November 21st, 2025) – The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettle campaign is a 134-year Christmas tradition. It has been a staple outside many favorite retailers, with the sound of the bell ringing, greeting patrons with a cheerful “Merry Christmas.”  The unsung heroes, the bellringers, have become a yearly tradition for many families and groups and are a vital part of the Red Kettle campaign. The Salvation Army throughout Northeast and Northwest Ohio invites community heroes to help keep the bell ringing throughout the season.

The Salvation Army throughout Northeast and Northwest Ohio invites community heroes to help keep the bell ringing throughout the season.

The Red Kettle campaign raises funds to support people in our local communities. The Salvation Army in Northeast and Northwest Ohio aims to raise $3.6 million to fund programs like food pantries, rent and utility assistance, after-school learning, and hot meal programs.
 
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettles have been in operation since 1891 to help those in need. The Kettle campaign is one of the longest-lasting and most recognizable efforts.
