The Salvation Army in Greater Cleveland Kicks Off Annual Toy Drive Campaign

Nov 4, 2021

CLEVELAND, OH (November 4th, 2021) – The holiday season is officially upon us. The Salvation Army in Greater Cleveland is committed to keeping Hope Marching On for thousands of children in need this Christmas. Starting November 8th through December 10th, The Salvation Army in Greater Cleveland invites individuals, organizations, and companies to participate in their annual toy drive campaign. The organization expects to provide toys to 6,000 children this Christmas and food to their families.

“Families across Greater Cleveland are still struggling to recover from the economic impact of the pandemic. This year, we will need to collect 12,000 toys to provide two toys to each child we serve. Help us continue to help our neighbors. No child should ever have to go without a toy at Christmas,” stated Major Thomas Applin, Divisional Secretary of The Salvation Army in Greater Cleveland Area Services.

The Salvation Army has multiple ways for both the corporate community and residents to get involved in the annual toy campaign:

  • Host a Toy Drive at your local place of employment
  • Visit WalmartAngelTree.org and donate a toy online
  • Stop at your local Walmart store on 11/15 thru 12/10 and drop off a toy at the “Angel Tree” display

“We are looking for new, unwrapped toys for children up to 12 years old. The online Walmart Registry For Good is filled with fun and popular toys. Once purchased online, these will be shipped directly to our local Corps Community Centers. Visit SalvationArmyCleveland.org for more great toy ideas,” stated Applin.
