Tuesday, August 4, 2020 (Pittsburgh, Pa.) – Parents facing the unprecedented challenge of raising children during a pandemic will find much-needed support Saturday, Aug. 15 during The Salvation Army’s Back-to-School Bash Drive-Through event, providing backpacks, gently used clothes, shoes, and more at a safe, social distance.

Sponsored by First National Bank, the event takes place from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center, 1060 McNeilly Road, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15226.

“We know so many families are facing financial pressure this year in a way that they may have not experienced before, and we are looking forward to lending support and smiles during this year’s Back-to-School Bash Drive-Through,” said Lt. Jamie Crowell, Assistant Corps Officer for The Salvation Army Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center. “We know this year’s event will bring hope to all who attend.”

Advanced registration is required by calling 412-207-2127. A limited number of student haircuts are available onsite, and those attendees who receive them are encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing whenever possible.

Thanks to the generosity of this year’s sponsor, First National Bank, students will be provided with backpacks, school supplies, gently used clothes and shoes, haircuts, snacks, and more.

“We’re proud to partner with The Salvation Army to provide supplies and support for students and their parents so they can feel prepared and ready to focus on education in the coming school year,” said Ronald Donatelli, Pittsburgh Regional President, First National Bank.  “FNB is committed to supporting local organizations that provide communities with the resources they need to be successful.”
