No One Should Ever Grow Old Alone Image

No One Should Ever Grow Old Alone

Every year, older adults are welcomed with open arms in our Salvation Army Corps Community Centers across Southwest Ohio & Northeast Kentucky.

Our programs are specialized to help heal the mind, body and soul for adults in every stage of life.

We seek to be a leader in evangelism, ministry and service to and with older adults, to address their changing needs and to engage them in significant roles of service, thus providing growth and personal development. We partner with adults by connecting them with tools and resources to help them through any life struggle. There is help for veterans, community care ministries for those who are homebound or hospitalized, counseling and more. We give people a whole army of support, so they are not alone.

Economic insecurity affects adults daily

An estimated 4 out of 5 adults struggle with near-poverty, joblessness or dependence on welfare. While much of social service works highlights families and children, the “invisible poor”, the adult and senior populations within communities whether suburban or rural are often forgotten.

The Salvation Army Is Dedicated to
Serving Seniors and the Elderly Through:

Community

Each Salvation Army corps community center serves its local senior citizen community in unique ways to meet specific needs. A wide variety of program offerings - ranging from clubs and classes to groups and gatherings - empowers older adults to learn, laugh, and thrive among like-minded friends.

Activities

The Salvation Army works to stimulate the minds and bodies of older adults via educational opportunities, low-impact exercise, dances, lunches, fellowship, and countless other "young at heart" activities.

Residences

To help ease the functional transitions associated with advanced age, some of our locations offer housing assistance and living quarters for the elderly - each cultivated with a loving atmosphere of help, kindness, and acceptance.

Adult Day Care Centers

Because the mental and physical disabilities associated with old age impact both the elderly and their loved ones, some Salvation Army locations offer adult day care facilities. Here, older adults unable to independently care for themselves enjoy friendship, kindness, and monitored activities while their caretakers enjoy a much-needed break.

Help adults and seniors find dignity and purpose.
