Smiles Make the Greatest Gifts

During the holidays, we work to assist the whole person through gifts that serve the body, mind and soul.

The Salvation Army in Scioto County helps make
spirits brighter during the Holidays through:

Adopt-a-Family program

You can organize a group to adopt a family in need and help them have a better Christmas celebration. Check with us if you want to adopt a full family.

Angel Tree and Toy Shop

Each year The Salvation Army of Scioto County finds folks who may need a little extra helping hand during the Christmas Season. We do this in the form of "The Angel Tree" for which you can find at many local stores in the county. To help, you simply pick an Angel and shop for a child. The Salvation Army then takes those gifts and forms a "Toy Shop" for the parents to come and shop for their children.

Food baskets

The Salvation Army helps bring people together for the holidays by providing food needed in a food baskets to Ange Tree and Toy Shops Participants.

Give Hands

The Salvation Army needs volunteers to help distribute the gifts along with food for holiday meals to the participating families. Often times, employees and family members of the sponsoring organization help distribute their group’s gifts throughout their community. Community volunteer and service groups; church groups and retired senior volunteer programs often aid The Salvation Army during the holidays and throughout the year, but more volunteers are always needed.

Coats, Clothing, and winter gear for youth

As part of our Angel Tree and Toy Shop programs, each child will have the opportunity to receive receive articles of clothing that they need along with their other gifts.
