The Salvation Army Kettle Challenge Golf Invitational Tees Off in May

Apr 9, 2024

PITTSBURGH - The Salvation Army’s Annual Kettle Challenge Golf Invitational will return on Monday, May 20 at Fox Chapel Golf Club. Proceeds will benefit The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Campaign, which provides relief to those in need in Allegheny County through comprehensive social services, Emergency Disaster Services and the Family Caring Center shelter.

The event will begin with registration and a light breakfast at 9, followed by a shotgun start at 10 and a 19th hole reception and prize presentation. Visit salvationarmywpa.org/golf to register or make a donation.

The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services staff and volunteers serve first responders and survivors on the scene of local emergencies. The Salvation Army also serves hot meals on a regular basis to those experiencing homelessness in Pittsburgh. Also supported by the Red Shield Campaign are comprehensive social services which include food, clothing, shelter, utilities and basic necessities for our neighbors in need. Lastly, the Red Shield Campaign supports The Salvation Army’s Family Caring Center, a unique shelter that accepts the entire family unit, not just women and children and not just men. The shelter, located in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood, offers a secure environment with three meals a day and programming to help families in crisis get back on their feet.
