JPMorganChase Invests in The Salvation Army to Brighten the Holidays for Philly Families

JPMorganChase presents $20,000 check and pledges volunteer hours and toy drives to support The Salvation Army this holiday season

Every year, The Salvation Army hears from families who want just one thing for the holidays: to make their children smile. But when budgets are stretched thin from rent, food and heat bills that take priority over presents and festive meals, families are left choosing between basic needs and holiday memories.

Thanks to a $20,000 investment, hands-on volunteer support and employee toy drives from JPMorganChase, that burden will be lifted for hundreds of Philadelphia families this holiday season.

The annual check presentation, hosted at The Salvation Army Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Divisional Headquarters, marked the continuation of a longstanding partnership between The Salvation Army in Greater Philadelphia and JPMorganChase. This year’s support includes over 200 employee volunteer hours and company-wide toy collections, all in support of local families struggling to make ends meet.

“In a world where hardships seem to be multiplying and families are facing uncertainty, JPMorganChase reminds us that a simple act of giving, when done with joy, can brighten the season for everyone involved,” said Capt. Benjamin Lyle, Area Commander of The Salvation Army in Greater Philadelphia. “It’s not just the families receiving support who feel the impact. It’s also the volunteers, donors and partners like JPMorganChase who experience the joy that comes from helping others. That’s the kind of hope our community needs right now.”

“We are thrilled to continue investing in community programs hosted by The Salvation Army,” said Lisa Bono, Market Executive for JPMorganChase. “Our philanthropic contributions in the Delaware Valley are targeted to strengthen our community and address local critical needs and issues. This investment with The Salvation Army will make a real impact on families and individuals during the holiday season and beyond.”

As part of its ongoing support, JPMorganChase will also serve as the lead sponsor of The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kick-off, taking place Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Christmas Village in LOVE Park. The main program will run from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the main stage, featuring special musical guests, notable media personalities and Salvation Army leadership. Admission is free and open to the public. The event marks the official launch of the iconic Red Kettle Campaign in Greater Philadelphia and is one of The Salvation Army’s signature events of the year.

The Salvation Army Greater Philadelphia also highlighted “Give with Joy,” the national theme of this year’s Red Kettle Campaign. The theme underscores the emotional and practical power of giving during uncertain times. Giving not only uplifts families in need but also brings meaning and connection to those who choose to help.

Funds raised through the Red Kettle Campaign make it possible for The Salvation Army to provide year-round support, including rent and utility assistance, emergency food and meals, youth programs, shelter services and seasonal support for neighbors facing hardship. Every dollar stays local to help meet the specific needs of the Philadelphia community.
