The Salvation Army ensures kids are equipped with the tools they need to succeed, which starts by meeting their basic needs.
We take a holistic approach by providing programs with life-long impact such as character-building programs, summer camp opportunities, sports activities, music education, after-school tutoring, mentorship and more. At the core of all that we do for youth, fighting for them is synonymous with sharing God's love and grace.
Music & Arts Camp (July 11-16)
Program Camp (July 25-29)
Teen Camp (August 1-5)
For many kids, summer camp is the first time they will see the world outside of their neighborhood. Each year, we enable thousands of children from low-income families to enjoy fresh air, exercise, and new friendships through our annual summer camp programs. This camping experience is more than just a few days away from home. Here, children learn new skills and self-reliance. Trained counselors, who understand their emotional needs, help them mature and grow. Camp activities include learning to swim, scouting, arts and crafts, music development, and sports. Healthy minds and healthy hearts are vital for kids at every age. We provide safe activities such as basketball and volleyball that are free to meet the needs of youth in our community. We open our gym on Fridays from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM to play basketball and volleyball.
The arts are being cut from schools facing budget restraints or treated as an elective. We disagree. Dance classes are crucial for youth development and enrichment. Our diverse programs are offered for children ages 4 to 16 on Thursdays at 8:00 PM.
The Corps Cadets Program is an international Salvation Army leadership and Christian discipleship program for students in the 7th grade and up on Thursday at 7:00 PM. The Corps Cadet curriculum includes opportunities for development of leadership skills, exposure to Salvation Army history, policies and procedures, and spiritual and self-development through the application of Biblical principles to life, as well as opportunities for community service.
Los Jovenes program is an opportunity for those youth members of the congregation to participate in weekly activities, church orientated games, spiritual development and more on Friday nights. For more details, call (215) 825-4662
