The Salvation Army Helps Make Families Whole

We open our arms and our hearts to give families the support they need to grow together and thrive.

At The Salvation Army in West Chester, we ensure that the basic needs of families are met so that they can develop together in a healthy fashion. We meet these needs through providing clothing, rental assistance, and other social services for those who need it.

The Salvation Army helps families thrive through:

Comprehensive Social Services

Our Social Services department works to ensure the needs of your family are met in every way necessary. These services include rental assistance, utility assistance, clothing vouchers, prescription vouchers, eyeglasses and referrals to other social service agencies.

Railton House

Railton House is a single room occupancy (SRO) program and serves as a bridge for gentlemen who have graduated from The Salvation Army ARC program and are transitioning back to independent living. Our maximum capacity is 7 men and candidates must undergo a rigorous interview process initiated by either The Salvation Army or the Adult Rehabilitation Center to be considered for one of these coveted slots.

Permanent Housing

Through HUD funding, The Salvation Army of West Chester is able to support permanent housing to those who meet the program standards. Qualifications for eligible individuals include chronic (documented) homelessness, those already receiving social security or disability income and is limited to one person per studio/efficiency unit.
