Nourishing Hope: Bayer Fund's $40,000 Boost to The Salvation Army's Food Initiative

The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division celebrates a generous $40,000 grant from the Bayer Fund, aimed at bolstering their Feeding Families for Life program. This initiative is a beacon of support for communities in Allegheny Valley, Greensburg, and New Kensington, Pa., where access to healthy food choices is a challenge for many families facing economic adversity.

The grant facilitates the distribution of fresh produce and lean proteins, supports community gardens, and fuels the Love in a Backpack program, which provides nutritious food to schoolchildren over the weekends.

This contribution marks a continued partnership, building on a previous $30,000 grant and hands-on volunteer support from Bayer, which has already made a significant impact on local food insecurity. Through concerted efforts like these, The Salvation Army and Bayer Fund are committed to the shared vision of a healthier, hunger-free community.
