The Salvation Army: Freeport Seniors Program

When older adults struggle, it often goes unnoticed due to isolation and decreased mobility. At The Salvation Army, we seek out these individuals to bring comfort, companionship, and the respect they deserve. Senior services include gatherings at community centers, educational opportunities, adult day care, housing, food and financial assistance.

Many of the seniors involved with The Salvation Army, like Pat and Paula, appreciate the fellowship and sense of community that these gatherings provide. They've been coming to dances for over a decade, and love meeting new friends every time they visit. The ability for them to maintain an active social life is extremely important for keeping seniors fit and sharp.
