The Salvation Army in New Britain, Connecticut's Pathway of Hope
When Yomaraly Torres, a mother of four, lost everything in Hurricane Maria, she refused to give up. After moving to the Northeast in 2018 with no home, no job, nothing—she knew there was a better path for her family. She simply needed a hand to find her way.
The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope program helps families like Yomaraly’s defeat intergenerational poverty. It offers a hand up as opposed to a handout. From resume writing and job placement to finding an apartment, every piece of the program is designed to help families find stability and self-sufficiency. Today, Yomaraly has a job and her family lives in a comfortable 3-bedroom apartment. She credits the program for helping her change direction and find a better way forward for herself and her children.
Your donations can help break the cycle of poverty by providing a safety net for families when they need it most.
