Education

The SmART Center is licensed under the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). The SmART Center upholds EEC's standards for the health, safety, and education of all children in childcare. Our qualified SmART Center staff is responsible for meeting the needs of children in the program and for assisting them in their development.

Arts

We help budding musicians and artists shape their skills through daily classes. Through weekly practice and development, we nurture growth and inspire a future in the arts. Programs rotate weekly and include music, dance, baking, science, and other STEM disciplines.

Physical Activity

Better health leads to a better you. Sports and Recreation Programs are designed to teach foundational principles in sports and guide youth to develop cooperative teamwork and sportsmanship values. After being in school all day, youth have an opportunity to stay active and move freely. Healthy snacks and water are provided.

We believe that children learn best through child-centered and child-directed activities, as well as through play and exploration of materials. Teachers facilitate learning by providing materials, guidance, and support for each child to learn at his or her own pace and by designing curriculum-based activities to enhance learning. We help raise children to be confident, aware, focused, cooperative and resourceful. This philosophy is firmly based on respect and individuality.

The SmART Center Program is open to all families with children aged 5-14 without regards to race, national origin, disabilities, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, handicaps, sexual orientation, or marital status.

We are committed to working with our children and their families to meet the individual needs of each child. We know that each child learns and develops at their own pace, and we strive to give each child the tools they need to be successful in their own way.

The Salvation Army SmART Center admits families of every race, color, cultural heritage, and national origin, regardless of marital status, sexual orientation, disability, religious belief, or any other status protected by state or federal law.
