The tools we offer families are rooted in God's love and work to strengthen the family bond.
Giving families the support they need to grow together and thrive.
Helping a family thrive starts by ensuring their basic needs are met, then walking alongside them on the path out of poverty. The North Shore's Pathway of Hope program does just that, through long-term case management for families with children under the age of 18. We also come alongside families by providing space for them to do life together at our community centers. Families receive the physical, emotional and spiritual support they need through our programs to foster better, brighter futures together. For children, this includes hundreds of after-school programs, a safe place to play, summer camps, and in many cases, the option for sports and music programs they might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience.
This program recognizes that in the City of Salem, 70% of students qualify for free/reduced lunch. There is concern in the community that those students lack access to enough nutritional food over the weekend. Working with Salem High School, The Salvation Army provides bags of food that contain items that provide identified students with enough food for two meals per day per person in the household with an average of three household members.

Upon completion of the program students have no record. Please visit our Bridging the Gap page or contact Katina at (978) 744-5181 for more information.
For many kids, Camp Wonderland is the first time they will see the world outside of their neighborhood. Each year, we enable thousands of children from low-income families to enjoy fresh air, exercise and new friendships through our annual summer camp programs. Here, children learn new skills and self-reliance. Trained counselors who understand their emotional needs and challenges help them mature and grow. Camp activities include learning to swim, scouting, arts, crafts, music development, and sports.
