We serve the Flemington Community Image

We serve the Flemington Community

We exist to meet human needs wherever, whenever, and however we can through programs that serve the mind, body, and soul.

Where do we serve?

We are an inclusive community offering both church and social services. Though anyone is welcome to attend our church services, we extend our hand of service to those in need who live in Hunterdon County.

The Salvation Army feeds an average of 156,000 every single day in the U.S.

In addition to addressing the immediate symptoms of food insecurity, our programs are designed to help identify and treat its root cause. This approach focuses on meeting the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of each person and helps move many from hungry to fully healed.

The Salvation Army meets the needs of Flemington through:

Worship Services and Sunday School

Traditional Sunday morning worship combines music, Scripture, prayer and preaching to honor God and serve as a time of reverence and reflection on the Holiness of God. The mission of Sunday school is to develop Christ-like character in ordinary people through time-tested spiritual disciplines of Scripture study and memorization, prayer, and activities.

Junior Soldiers

Junior Soldiers are young people aged 7-18 who have decided to be a follower of Jesus and who want to grow and express their faith through ministry within the Salvation Army. Once a child has decided to follow Jesus as well as to become a Junior Soldier, they can participate in special Junior Soldier preparation lessons. These lessons might be run over a five-week period or run as a special intensive over a whole day. These lessons are based on the Junior Soldier promise and what it means to be a follower of Jesus within The Salvation Army. When the lessons have been completed the child may be enrolled as a Junior Soldier of The Salvation Army.

Corps Cadets

A Corps Cadet is a young Salvationist who is at least 13 years old or in the 7th grade who undertakes a course of Bible study and leadership training in order to grow spiritually and become better equipped for effective service in The Salvation Army.

Children's Church

The mission of our Children's Church program is the salvation and nurturing of young people and adults to the honor and glory of God as well as building relationships within the body of Christ. This objective is achieved through the spiritual disciplines of scripture study and memorization, prayer and accountable relationships. Sunday School is both evangelistic and educational.

Troops - Youth Scouting Programs

The purpose of Troops is to provide a program that gives children an opportunity for personal growth spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially; and to increase their understanding of service to others by exploring God’s Word and God’s world.

 Bible Study

Bible Study meetings are designed to be both spiritual and educational. This program offers a weekly time to study God’s Word and learn practical applications for the Bible’s teachings. It also includes a time of spiritual encouragement through prayer for the needs of individuals, families, the church, and communities.

Joyful Noise - Youth Music Program

The Salvation Army introduces people of all ages to the beauty of the arts, helping them to use their talents to glorify God and bless those around them. From playing in The Salvation Army band to singing in the choir to leading Sunday worship and spreading Christmas cheer at one of our Red Kettles, we offer numerous performance opportunities and community programs for aspiring artists.

Praise Team Rehearsal

Our praise team, which leads worship every Sunday, holds its rehearsals on Thursday at 7:00 PM. If you would like to learn more about our praise team, please contact us.

 FYI - Teen Club

Teen club helps youth become productive, caring citizens while building meaningful relationships with others. They develop a positive self-image, good character and a healthy respect for others. By being a part of these programs youth learn what it means to be an active part of the community and that they can make a difference, no matter their age.
