We serve the Jersey City Community Image

We serve the Jersey City Community

We exist to meet human needs wherever, whenever, and however we can through programs that serve the mind, body, and soul.

Where do we serve?

We are an inclusive community offering both church and social services. Though anyone is welcome to attend our church services, we extend our hand of service to those in need who live in Bayonne, Hoboken, and Jersey City.

The Salvation Army feeds an average of 156,000 every single day in the U.S.

In addition to addressing the immediate symptoms of food insecurity, our programs are designed to help identify and treat its root cause. This approach focuses on meeting the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of each person and helps move many from hungry to fully healed.

The Salvation Army meets the needs of the Jersey City community through:

Worship Services and Sunday School

The Salvation Army in Jersey City offers worship services every Sunday. Sunday School is held at 10:00 AM, and the Worship Service begins at 11:00 AM.

Day Care Program

We offer a variety of programs for the youth in our area including our day care program which runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

After School Program

The Salvation Army’s high-quality after-school programs serve children and youth of all ages. We provide one-on-one assistance with homework and school assignments, as well as the teaching and advancement of literacy and study skills. Our after school program runs Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

Food Pantry

By supplying free fresh produce, canned goods, and healthy frozen items, our food pantries provide valuable meal supplementation while helping those in need maintain their independence and dignity. Our food pantry is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday beginning at 9:30 AM.
