Listen to Major Carl's interview with George Flores on Gate Radio this week. There will be multiple opportunities, beginning this Sunday, December 15th and and throughout the week before Christmas. Here is the schedule and a link to the internet stream:
Here's an interview with Major Carl Avery on NJ Now (WWOR TV) discussing the importance of seasonal and year-round services provided by The Salvation Army (originally aired on Sunday, December 8, 2024).
The Montclair Citadel Band Christmas Benefit Concert on December 6, 2024 was a great success! Musical guests Colin Williams, Nikki Abissi, and the New Jersey Homeschool Association Chorale under the direction of Beth Prins, joined the MCB led by Bandmaster Mark Baker for an enjoyable evening of music. The event raised over $12,500 to support services provided by The Salvation Army to people in need. These services include The Cornerstone House Shelter, a Drop-in Center, daily cooked meals, and case management. Thank you to our community for your support of our programs.
Some of the sponsors for this year were Dillon Musical Instruments, Haven Savings Bank, and the New York Staff Band.

Montclair, NJ - The Salvation Army presents Lt. Tyrone Williams, Jr. with "Love Beyond" Award (12.06.2024)
Love Beyond Award
The Advisory Board of The Salvation Army Montclair Citadel has established the Love Beyond Award to celebrate individuals or groups in our community who demonstrate by their actions that caring for others throughout the year is the right thing to do. These people demonstrate that true love goes beyond Christmas, beyond self, and beyond expectation.
The Salvation Army is grateful for those who come alongside with us, addressing the needs of those in our community who suffer from poverty, hunger, loneliness, and rejection. Many need guidance and a helpful hand to lift them up. They require someone who will speak into their situation and help them to find their way. The job is not for the faint of heart nor for those easily discouraged. It requires perseverance and patience. In other words, a heart that is full of love for others.
In his final public address, William Booth, the founder of The Salvation Army declared,
“While women weep, as they do now, I’ll fight; while children go hungry, as they do now I’ll fight; while men go to prison, in and out, in and out, as they do now, I’ll fight; while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I’ll fight, I’ll fight to the very end!”
This is our legacy. This is our challenge. We commend all who join the fight.
Thanks for coming out to The Most Good 5K Walk/Run!
And thank you sponsors!
