Olympic Gold Medalist Laila Edwards visits The Salvation Army in East Cleveland Day Camp
What: The Salvation Army in East Cleveland & Cleveland Monsters will host an exciting event for local youth. Olympic gold medalist, professional women’s hockey player, and Cleveland Heights local Laila Edwards will visit the location. Edwards will speak to 100 youth enrolled in the Summer Day program, take photos, and plan to sign autographs. Sully, the official mascot for the Cleveland Monsters, will also be on site for the event.

Why: Summer creates a notable gap in youth programs across Cuyahoga County during school breaks. With more than 60% of East Cleveland residents living in single-parent households, The Salvation Army is committed to meeting these needs and supporting local youth this summer. Additionally, The Salvation Army and Laila Edwards share a close bond, as her grandmother is part of the congregation at The Salvation Army in East Cleveland.
