The gift of music
We first met Stephanie when she came to The Salvation Army, hoping for help with finding Christmas gifts for her children. She and her husband, both blind, have two children with the ability to see.
Their children were very interested in music, but unfortunately, on their limited income, Stephanie and her husband, who was in the military and was deployed, simply didn't have the resources available to invest in musical instruments for them.
Stephanie asked for a guitar and an electronic keyboard, along with very practical gifts like books and clothing. We connected her to a sponsor family who not only provided Stephanie's daughter with her much-desired "pink guitar," but also all the needed accessories and study books.
Stephanie's son received an electronic keyboard, sheet music, and an offer to take lessons. The family was more than thrilled with their first Salvation Army Christmas experience, never expecting such an outpouring of love.
Today, Stephanie's children share a passion for music and play instruments in their school music programs.
Thank you for setting up Stephanie's children for success, and for giving them a merry Christmas!
