The Salvation Army receiving a donation of 20,000 pounds of Food to resupply Food Pantries

What: The Salvation Army in Salem is receiving its first delivery of donated food from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Over 20,000 pounds of food is being donated to address food insecurity throughout Columbiana, Mahoning, and many other surrounding counties. This donation comes at a critical time of the year as families face increased food costs, inflation continues to rise, and wages remain stagnant.

Why: The Salvation Army and The Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints are focused on the fight against hunger throughout Northeast Ohio. This food will be donated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and delivered to and distributed by The Salvation Army. According to Feeding America, 12.9% of residents are food insecure in Columbiana County.
