H.U.G.S. for the Homeless:
Our Hot Shower program allows those who are unhoused to "come clean," but after a shower, individuals often have to put on the same clothing and undergarments they came in. H.U.G.S. (Hats, Underwear, Gloves and Socks) for the Homeless provides a variety of new, clean undergarments, socks, hats, and gloves for those we serve. We need donations to provide new, packaged men’s, women's, boys and girls undershirts, underpants, and white athletic socks in all sizes to our clients and neighbors in need.
Individuals in need can take a hot shower at our 190 S. Maple Street, Akron, OH, 44302 location. Hot showers are available Monday through Thursday, between 9 AM to 11:30 AM, and 1 PM to 2:30 PM. All showers include soap, shampoo, razor, and a clean fresh towel. Individuals must provide a valid picture ID.
The Learning Zone offers positive alternatives to children who are surrounded by negative influences; introducing art, music and character-building programs along with academic support and study skills. We are laying the foundation for successful and productive lives.
