Education is a ticket out of poverty. Image

Education is a ticket out of poverty.

The Salvation Army ensures kids are equipped with the tools they need to succeed, which starts by meeting their basic needs.

Providing a safe place to play and a warm bed to sleep in for youth is just the start. We take a holistic approach by providing programs with life-long impact such as character-building programs, summer camp opportunities, sports activities, music education, after-school programs, mentorship and more. Through mentoring and education, disadvantaged children and teens are shown the possibility of a better life.

How we help empower youth:

Camp Sebago

Each year Camp Sebago enriches the lives of many. Whether a seven year old away from home for the first time, a teenager who spends a summer on staff, or a senior at camp for a weekend retreat, Camp Sebago holds a special place as a lifelong memory.

The overall purpose of camping at Camp Sebago is to care for every aspect of the camper's life. This includes provision for the spiritual, educational, nutritional, social, and recreational needs of campers through creative, healthy experiences in cooperative group living in an outdoor setting.

Youth Programs

Corps Cadets The Corps Cadet program prepares youth for a lifelong commitment to spiritual growth and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (discipleship) and for serving God and The Salvation Army to the fullest extent possible.

Sallywags Sallywags is a Parent & Toddler (children under 4) open gym that supports parents of toddlers with a safe space for children to play and socialize. We also support parents by giving an opportunity to network and build relationships with other parents of small children while connecting with Salvation Army and other community resources.
