The Salvation Army Meeting Basic Human Needs

Food Pantry

The Salvation Army in Bangor offers a food pantry to the community. We desire to serve the community as best we can. By offering food, we are meeting one of the most basic needs for those needing a little help to get by.

The pantry is available to those in need Monday-Friday from 9am-1pm.

65 S. Park Street at the corner of Broadway Park

For questions please contact Diana Horton: Diana.Horton@use.salvationarmy.org or by phone at (207) 941-2990.

Soup Kitchen

The Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen feeds on average 100 hot meals each day Monday through Friday. Many times this is the only hot meal the patrons of our Soup Kitchen will have each day. We are so grateful to our many wonderful volunteers who prepare and serve each meal every day.

If you or your group would like to volunteer at The Salvation Army's Soup Kitchen, please call our office at 207-941-2990 for more information.

Mobile Canteen Homeless Outreach Program

The Salvation Army runs a mobile canteen which goes out every other week during the winter months. The canteen goes out to areas where the homeless people in the community are located and serves hot food along with sandwiches, snacks and drinks from October through May. All the food for the canteen is prepared by volunteers and served by volunteers and staff. The canteen serves approximately 100 people per outing.

Those in need are also provided with hygiene items, clothing, and other resources for help.
