Groundhog Day Leads Northern New England into Freezing Winter Temperatures
Groundhog Day, February 2, 2023—Our favorite groundhog meteorologist has seen his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter just before Northern New England gets hit with below freezing temperatures this weekend.
These temperatures are yet another life-threatening obstacle our unsheltered neighbors face. A few of our Salvation Army Corps are opening their doors to our neighbors in need this weekend and providing emergency shelter to escape the freezing temps.
Maine:
Our Portland, ME Corps is opening up its gymnasium for warmth and shelter from Friday, February 3rd- Sunday, February 5th, 2023.

Our Old Orchard Beach, ME Corps is opening its doors as a warming center Friday, February 3rd and Saturday, February 4th.
