New London Children Receive Back to School Necessities
NEW LONDON, CT - On Tuesday, August 29th, The Salvation Army’s Boys & Girls Club of New London brought children to go back-to-school shopping in preparation for the upcoming school year. They made a stop at the Adidas store at Clinton Premium Outlets to shop for new shoes and their brand-new back-to-school outfit!
Approximately seventy-five children from the club shopped for shoes, which were paid for through the generosity of donors. “The Salvation Army’s Boys & Girls Club continues to offer free, high-quality programs with trained staff, caring mentors, and most importantly, a safe place to study and grow.
By providing back-to-school sneakers and outfits for the kids in our Club, we are helping boost their confidence and pride, ensuring a great first few days of the new school year. It is truly a blessing to watch these boys and girls grow into tomorrow’s leaders.” said Captain Adriana Gonzalez-Cottrell from The Salvation Army in New London.
Representatives from the Connecticut Sun were in attendance to help the children find the perfect outfit to start the school year!
“We are extremely thankful that these generous donors and partners have come alongside our children to provide them with back-to-school necessities,” said Captain Brandon Gonzalez-Cottrell.
