Rhode Island Volunteer gives back to community

Jul 6, 2020

Erin, a volunteer at The Salvation Army in Providence, Rhode Island, has been packing countless boxes and bags of food for people in need since the COVID-19 crisis began. Erin’s knowledge of the community has been an added bonus as she is able to answer questions and give hope to those who need it the most.

Erin had worked her way through The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center in Rhode Island and got her life back on track. She’s clean and sober now and has committed her life to Christ. “Erin loves God and loves The Salvation Army and is giving back in a meaningful way,” said Captain Esther Wilson. “I am trusting that, when this is all over, she will remain connected and continue to volunteer her time with The Salvation Army.”

The Salvation Army’s three Rhode Island Community Centers in Providence, Pawtucket, and Newport remain open, following a modified schedule with service provided 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday thru Friday. The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center in Rhode Island continues to serve current residents.
